WHO ARE WE ?

We are DDI. We are a Big Data start-up imagined by Michelin.
We have the expertise and the experience. The hindsight and agility.

We provide our clients, partners, companies and drivers ...
the means to become actors of their safety and their own mobility.

An innovative project from the incubator Michelin. Specialist in the connection of vehicles to the ground, the Michelin Group has been involved in the analysis of mass driving data to better understand the behavior and use of vehicles since 2015.

THE CHALLENGE OF THE DDI PROJECT IS THEN THAT OF BIG DATA. A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES SERVING A MASS OF DATA TO BE FILTERED AND ANALYSED, WITH THE AMBITION OF BECOMING THE REFERENCE POINT IN THE CHARACTERISATION OF DRIVING BEHAVIOUR AND THE USE OF THE VEHICLE.

Our history

In 2012, following Michelin’s investment in a project to update driving data to better understand the driving behavior and the conditions of use of the vehicles, a telematics platform was set up.

This platform was built with a «Big Data» logic and a unique combination of technologies.

In addition to this platform, a panel of users has been set up in Europe, the «Road Usage Lab».
This panel was used to test and validate the technology. It includes more than 3,000 connected vehicles and has collected 7.6 million trips and 108 million KMs, which can now be analyzed.

SINCE, THE RELEVANCE OF THIS APPROACH LED THE GROUP TO LAUNCH THE DDI (DRIVING DATA TO INTELLIGENCE) PROJECT, WITHIN THE INCUBATOR OF MICHELIN (IPO - INCUBATOR PROGRAM OFFICE).
